Im 16 so I have cords everywhere in my room! With a cellphone charger, iPod charger, Laptop cords and hair dryer, curling iron, and straghtener cords and then the tv and a lamp I just cant keep em all off the floor so whats the best way to keep a Lab puppy away from all of them? Ive heard about bitter apple spray or something but does it work?
my dog did that for about 1 year. she never stopped for nothing either. your best bet would be to remove every cord in sight. thats what i did. my dog even chewed my pants panties and shirts, sooo your lucky if she/he just chews cords lol. get your dog a chew toy too that could help
Be patient, buy chew toys, and remove anything that you do not want to be chewed on. I am still working with my youngest dog and they only way to avoid chewed items is to remove them and to supervise him closely. Hang in there. One more thing I've noticed. He is more likely to chew on something if he has not had enough excercise for a day. I wear him out with a walk, game of fetch, or if the weather is nasty a good game of "chase the laserpen" in the house.
Definately remove cords that are easily accessible to your pup. They all go through the chewing stage. I cured mine by putting tobasco sauce on the part of the cord that is exposed. Chili powder works good too. Bully sticks are wonderful for keeping an avid chewer busy. They love them and they are a healthy, high protein snack. Also a peanut butter loaded Kong ball is more appealing than a nasty old cord reeking of chili powder or hot sauce ! lol
