Me and my boyfriend recently took on being the parents to an 11 month old pit bull/ lab mix (Missy). I have had a pit bull and a lab before....but apparently when you mix the two, you cant find any information on the dog. I really wouldl ike to know what health problems I need to be aware of in her considering labs have more health problems than pits and so im not sure what health problems from which side is going to affect her the most. I believe her mom was a lab and her dad was a pit but i am not sure of this because like I said we took her in at the last second and the people we got her from also got her from another individual owner so again I am not sure. On the other hand, she is the sweetest little dog, well big dog, and we have 3/4 of an acre fenced and she just loves to run around and she is so funny to play with outside and she just loves to run up and down the fence line playing with the blue tick hound next door (they are BFFs). Also, we decided to get her a brother to play with so we brought home a Mountain Feist and she loves to justp lay with him and he loves to play with her (I believe he has 'little man syndrome') considering she is like 4 times his size but she never tried to hurt him only play with him unless she has a treat, then she is territorial. What I really want to know is basically things I need to watch out for.
Since you've had both breeds, you probably already know the health issues of both. Missy could exhibit any of those. If both breeds have some of the same health issues, those will be the ones to especially look out for.
Bless you for taking her in! Have fun with her and your Feist.
