My horse had the most awesome tail. Approximately 8 weeks ago, I bought a Saanan goat to keep him company and eat the weeds in the paddock. I noticed yesterday that the goat has obviously been chewing the horse's tail. Other than tethering the goat, how do I stop it from doing this?
You could try tying the horse's tail up, as long as you're not suffering from an influx of flies. If that's not an option, you could trim the tail, depending on how tall your horse is. If all else fails, yes, I would tether the goat. Good luck!
Are these other horses yours? If so or if their owners won't mind, then mix up some corn oil with cayenne pepper in it, and comb thru tails, or can try dipping them in apple cider vinegar mixed with water, that generally would stop the ones we had at farm.I don't know if they make something like this commercially, but these two have worked for me.
