I have a Papillon puppy, Bailey, that I recieved as a birthday gift from my fiancee. He's about 14 weeks old. He's so adorable, but I've seen other Pap puppies and his coat is different from others. It's short and thin, except for his ears, those are fluffy. I'm just wondering if this is normal and if his hair will grow out as he gets older or did my fiancee get duped into spending $1400 on a "mutt"... He has no health problems that would cause weird hair growth and I really wouldn't care either way, he's the joy of my life but I would be upset if the breeder lied. He has papers and they go back to his great great grand parents so... help please!!
Papillons go through an "ugly teenage stage". They are cute up until about 10 weeks, and then lose their puppy coat and start growing their adult coat and they don't look like papillons until about 6 months.
If you had a pic it would be easier to tell.
Did you research your breeder before purchasing? Pedigrees, show results, health tests, etc?
