I was wondering if anyone here is good at identifying bugs. we have this strange bug that I have seen on occasion crawling around on our deck. I have never seen anything like it in my life. We call it the crumbcake bug because it looks like a crumb with legs. It is the most bizarre looking thing ever. I took some pics of it. It moves around a lot but I did manage to catch a few pics when it was still.
Here it is. Let me know if you know what kind of bug it is THANKS !
I should not have been reading the word Larvae as I was eating rice
I tried looking up Lacewing larvae but the annoying virus/family site protection thingy I have on the computer won't allow me to see pictures Never heard of a Lacewing, not surprising since I try to steer clear of any thing bug !! Trust me, I am not about to go touching it lol
I found a website where I can ask a question to the entomologists so I asked them to please identify the bug and sent him the same pictures I posted here. The pictures are a little too fuzzy for them though but I think they are stymied as well as they keep asking me for more information on it. If they figure it out I will let you know
Well I guess it's true .... you get what you pay for lol. After all the additional questions I was asked I got the response " there are some bugs that secrete a waxy substance over their bodies for protection. It is probably one of those types.".
So this is either some friggin mutant bug creature never before seen or the entomologist is a crackpot.
I went back to the site and wrote the guy another note to let him know what it was in case anyone else ever asks him. Then I went back to the bugguide site to see what a lacewing looked liked and almost I can handle a lot of gross stuff, but bugs give me the eebie jeebies ........
