Has anyone noticed any problems with these puppies and hypoglycemia? I have had a dog in the past with this problem but this is the first time I have had a very young pup with this problem. Please help me care for him. He is the lone pup of a mother who went into heat and conceived on the sly. She is a bit old and we thought her past this as she had not been in heat for years. I am worried about him. Should I give him sugar water? he is not quite 6 weeks but she has weened him and he eats Peddigree Puppy champions food for small dogs.
It sounds as though your pup has already been diagnosed with hypoglycemia...is that the case? The important thing to do with these litle guys is to feed them frequent small meals so their blood sugar is regulated. I would suggest you also buy a higher quality food, one with out grain in the ingredients. Good luck with the little gaffer.
