I have an alaskan dog who is the SWEETEST dog in the world, actually, he is my daughter's dog. She doesn't take care of him, and he has pretty much taken over the house. Really, it's the shedding, and OMG the TICKS! More than anything I would love to find him a home up north which of course is where he belongs. He is SOOOOOO miserable. Is there any organization that addresses this kind of problem - cold weather dogs that need to go home?? Desperate in Texas
I am not sure what you mean about an alaskan dog. Are you refering to an alaskan malamute? Anyway, there are usually breed clubs and rescues that can help where needed. You may want to google the breed, and see if there are any rescues avaliable.
If you want to keep him, shave him down and put garlic in his food. This will all but eliminate the shedding and you will be able to see the ticks. Fleas and ticks do not like the taste of blood with the garlic.
Otherwise, Illusionmini has a great idea, call a breed club and they will find him a home.
He is your friend, partner, defender, your dog. You are his life, love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.
