Hi, I have 6 American Pit Bull Terriers, and yes their all big house babies! We love them dearly and want to keep them as close to us as possible so their house babies and VERY spoiled on top of that! LOL
anyways, to the point.... we feed them Diamond dog food. I haven't had any problems with the food, I'm just wondering if there might be something better out there that I can offer my babies. We have tried Purina dog chow and they loved it but unfortunately my oldest male is allergic to it. We are paying right at $25 for a 50lb bag, so if anyone knows of a better food for around that price, (if you might know of something a little more expensive, that's fine) just let me know please!
Thanks so much!
(I am wanting to start showing my dogs so I'm wanting a dog food that will make their coats look the absolute best!)
Switching your dogs' food is a personal choice and every person will have different info for you to sift through regarding what brand they think is best and how well their own dogs did on any particular food.. The best thing you can do is begin your own research into the subject and allow ample time to gather info and evaluate your options. There are lots of helpful books on the subject of canine nutrition. There is a lot of good info on what makes a good dog food on the internet as well. Two favorite sites of mine can be found if you google 'dog food analysis' and 'dog food project'. LOTS of good info on both these sites. At the end of the day, only you can decide if you should switch foods and what food to switch to. The best thing you can do for your beloved dogs is make that decision armed with as much info and education as you can.
I have 4 GD 3 eat Diamond large breed the other can't because it causes freq soft stools and she could not hold it long.to say the least she gets a different food the only food she has been able to do well with is eukanuba. I stopped with it Because she did so well with it.Ingrediant wise it doesnt score as high and is more expensive but it worked with her. I guess what I am saying is like people, dogs can't all tolerate the same food weither it is allergies or a digestive problems.I have to watch them when eating so she doesnt sneek others food, they are happy to trade on occation. But other than that it has been wonderful.
