my springer spanielpup is 4 weeks old. he was diagnosrd with aspirational pneumonia yesterday.he has to take antibiotics until monday. he's geting weaker.he's not able to keep milk down.he throws up and the milk bubbles out his nose.can any one give me advice on how to get either milk or puppy food to stay down.
I would take the puppy to the vet and have them put an NG tube in him and feed him that way. I would not do this yourself since, if not placed properly, the food could go directly into his lungs which, at this point, would probably kill him.
I agree with Scout. Make sure he is being kept warm. How often are you feeding him and how much? The vet can place the NG tube and verify placement then secure it in place so that you can do the feedings at home.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It is about learning to dance in the rain.
he was taken to the vet again today was told his lungs arent as bad.hes on more antibiotics, but still finding it hard to keep down food.hes only given a little bit of food not even a teaspoon full every couple of hour hours.he's only allowed to feed from his mother for a very short length of time.
