I have a 20 month old female Toy Poodle(spayed at 6 months). She does and has always urinated really frequently, about every couple hours. She had blood and chemistry work done in August but nothing remarkable showed up. Glucose was 120 (range 67-147) calcium was 11.9 (8.6-11.8) and RBC profile all slightly elevated. Nothing revealed in urinalysis. Vet prescribed a round of Amoxicillin as a precautionary measure. Was not able to see any difference in her urination. She drinks very little water.
My question is...Are any of you familiar with this issue and could share your experience and knowledge. Since she has been like this all her life, could it be that she just hasn't learned to control her kidneys yet? I have noticed that when I am gone for a few hours, she can hold it with no problem. She is the picture of health otherwise.
