When I bought my peke three years ago I didn't plan on breeding my dog.Now that he is our only dog left we want to breed him. It seems like I will need some way to prove he is a pure breed. Since my vet explained that my dog's behavior change is similiar to a female being in heat, it is only fair that I do something right away.I would like to breed him once and then have him fixed. Is there any other way to prove he is a purebreed? I need to find some way to document everything so a breeder will feel comfortable using my dog. Please send me any suggestions.thank you.
Years ago when I first had gotten Scout I had forgotten to register her before the time limit was up. I had to go back to the breeder I got her from and have her do something that would allow me to register her late. I really don't remember the specifics of how it worked but I think I ofund the info on AKC's website. I would suggest contacting your breeder and asking her.
You didn't explain why it is you want to breed your male but from the tone of your post it sounds like you want to so you could have a puppy just like him. Be aware that it is the mother that is usually responsible for the temperament of the pups. So even though you would be getting one of "his" pups, the pup most likely won't be exactly like him in temperament. I could be wrong on that but I seem to remember being told that at some point over the years.
I'm confused. This person wants tp breed, whats appears to be her male to someone elses female. What in the world is the part about the vet telling her that her dogs behavior change is similar to that of a female in heat????? Her male is acting like a female in heat so she must do the right thing and breed him????
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It is about learning to dance in the rain.
Do you mean you have male or female peke with you? I'm just a bit confused. But anyhow, regardless of your dog's breed, one answer is certain: Contact your breeder. If you bought your peke from a legit, responsible breeder then that won't be an issue since for sure he/she has a copy of her dogs' data, your peke included. Ask from the breeder your peke's pedigree to prove that he/she is a purebred and that it would also inform you and others who his/her parents were. Once you got his/her pedigree, it would also greatly help if you would register him to AKC, PCCI or any legal organization you have in your country.
