My chocolate lab is due at anytime. Her body temp has been staying steady around 99.4-99.7, today is day 60 for her, got up and checked her temp this morning and it was 98.7, then 98.3, then 98.5, then 99.0, then 99.1, this is every 2 hrs that her temp is being checked per Vet. Is this a regular occurring issue with the temps before they go into LABOR?
Well, she has had her pups by now, so you probably don't need a response, but yes, it can vary. Our bitch whelped four weeks ago and the day before, we took her to the vet. Our temp at home said 99.7. Her temp at the vet said 99.9 and 100.1. They tested with a digital and a mercury thermometer. It probably varies slightly depending on the depth the temp is taken and if you are varying thermometers. She began delivering puppies about 34 hours later.
