I am a dog lover, they are like my children, luckily for me I work from home so they get lots of love and attention, and are great company. I am very frustrated right now with California laws especially Los Angleles County on a 3 dog limit ! My love of dogs has led me to want to pursue and learn the world of dog shows, now obviously for this I need a "show" dog... But L.A County says 3 dog limit, and you get not help when you call or even go there, they are so rude and unhelpful. I tried to talk to them to see if I could get a special license or some such thing in order to have 4-5 dogs on my premises, all indoor/outdoor family members. My yard is fenced I have a great dog area/run for them, they have their own garden shed full of squishy beds for when I am not home. I take them out for a run 1+ hours every morning without fail, I am a great dog owner (if I do say so myself)... Yet no help from L.A County just rudeness and a standard answer of NO 3 dogs ... what Is one to do, how do we change this ???
Unless you live on an A2 zone or A1 with 2.5+ acres, there is nothing you can do about it. I know several people who went through it and at the end, after all was said and done, all they could do is either move, stay and hide their dogs and hope and pray they wont get caught or stick to 3 dogs. No way around it.
The essence of hypocrisy is the tendency to make an exception of oneself.
there was something on the news a couple of months ago about a proposal to increase the limit from 3 to 5 but I have heard nothing since. I asked someone this morning and they said it was still stuck in "clue" not sure what that it, but they said that I should contact local council person and pledge my support for the proposal to try and get more exposure.
I know of some people who make up fictitious animal names and get licenses for them every year in case there ever is a limit imposed in their town then they can be grandfathered in as already having more dogs.
