I have a very affectionate 1-year old dog. We adopted him from the shelter when he was 3 months old. Just a few days ago, he was sleeping in my lap and when I started petting him, he growled and snapped. That same night, I tried moving him so that I could sleep on the bed and he growled and snapped at me. It happened again the next night, and he actually bit my hand without breaking the skin. So I sent him out of the room. Today, he was cuddling with me. Once he got comfortable, I started petting him, and he growled very quietly and then bit my finger..breaking the skin.
What is happening to him? What should I do? Is this a dominance issue?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Stop letting this dog on your furniture, stop petting him, and especially if he comes and asks for it.Ignore him more and get him to work for everything(what breed is he?) Google-Nothing in Life is for Free, ways to interact with your dog. Sue
