Bringing home another female dog? I currently have a dachshund mix that is 7 to 8 months. She has been with us for 4 months now and has made herself at home. However, my girlfriend is moving in and she has a female dog as well. Her dog is a dachshund mix as well but is about a year old. They have met before at a park and seemed to get along and be playing (even though i was worried the whole time because it looked like they were fighting but everyone told me they were just playing). Now my girlfriends bigger and older dog is moving in and im worried about confrontation between the two and my dogs feeling of having to share everything she has learned that belongs to her alone and her not being able to show that shes the alpha dog in this home because she is younger and smaller. Please help. Am i crazy about worrying about all this? The internet is just full of everyone tripping out about two female dogs moving in together. Thank you very much for your time!
Edit* Both dogs are spayed, older dog was just spayed on Mon.

Having them both spayed already will make a HUGE difference, so you have already done the best thing to help get them get along. Plus allowing them to meet at a neutral location first is another huge step, so you've done that as well, your off to a good start!! Let them smell each other through a door first when your girlfriend brings hers over and dont leave them alone together as well, kennels will help as well so that they each know they have a safe spot. But really you have a great foundation already in place to make it work! Dont be nervous when your girlfriend and her dog come, because the dogs will sense it, be calm and act like nothing is wrong.
