I have a 2 yr old Chocolate lab that is a true sweetheart. We give her plenty of exercise when we are home, however, I worry that she gets lonely while we are gone all day. She stays inside the house and has all the comforts of life as she is spoiled rotten. My family is considering getting her a four legged companion. Doggie daycares are not an option as we live in the country and they just don't exist here. Our lab is small weighing in at 80 pounds. We considered breeding her as she has an excellent bloodline but her vet asked the key question "will you be able to part with her pups?" Sooo we have opted to spay her. I would like some suggestions as to a breed of a dog that might be optimal for a lab. We would like it to be smaller than she is but it cannot be a toy dog as we have hawks and foxes in the area that will nab a little pet even if you are right there with it! My husband thinks that she doesn't need a friend as she has US, but she is alone 8 hours a day and I think she would be happier with a friend.
Hello! We have a 1 year old lab that we have just recently started looking for a nice big country home for. He is small, I believe the runt of the litter, as he was the last one left. He is AKC registered with several prize-winners in his history. Honestly, he is an absolute sweetheart- completely potty trained, excellent disposition. If you are still looking please let us know.
