My one year old american bulldog has started this constant whining. He has been chasing the older fixed boxer around, licking her and trying to hump her. I assumed this was dominance behavior...but now he is licking and chasing our fixed female yorkie. He won't stop whining and crying and barking...I don't know what to do. He is not neutered and I am wondering if this is his problem. Help please...thanks!
I have an American bulldog as well who is a year old. We are actually getting her spayed tomorrow. We let her go into heat one time (recommended by our vet and our breeder) however; they are extremely talkative and vocal, Iíve never heard her really whine. If there is a female dog in your neighborhood that is in heat he will be able to know which could cause him to be constantly whining. As you said, I would recommend you neuter him and that should fix the problem.
He is going through adolescence and his temperament will be going through a lot of changes. I know my Daisy's attitude and temperament has changed as well. We are hoping this spaying is going to calm her down some.
Also make sure he gets plenty of exercise. If Daisy doesn't get her run she gets anxious and runs all over the apartment.
