Part lab/pitt experiences w/ temperment

I just adopted a 4 yr old part lab mixed with pitt....I think! We have only had him two weeks and he's been so good but didn't know if anyone had any advice or experiences to share? We have two kids that are with us every other weekend and will be meeting him for the first time tomorrow....hope all goes well but he is very timid still yet....

I have a lab/pit mix and he is a really good dog. great temperament and very intelligent. and he's also very playful. he loves the water and loves to play fetch. I've also met other lab/pit mixes and they were the exact same way. just take your time introducing the dog to the kids. if he feels uncomfortable, don't force him. let him warm up on his own. good luck!! :)

Every pit/lab mix I have met have been wonderful dogs. some a little to happy lol, but still wonderful. I wouldn't forsee any problems. If I had to complain, I would say more are very excitable. I don't think I have ever met one that didn't jump up and lick me in the face lol

Thanks for the feedback! I think things will be great.....we will let him come to the kids and warm up in his own time! He came from a shelter and his timid, easily startled nature makes me wonder if he was abused so our biggest issue has been just reassuring him that he's safe!
