I have 2 -6 month old english bulldog puppies who have been sick with a respiratory infection since i got them. One seems to have gotten better but the other is still bad. He chokes on his food and constantly is choking on plegm in his throat. I have brought him to numerous vet appts and they gave him mulitple antibiotics that did not help. Now they are saying he has a small trachea and may need a tracheal wash to analyze the cells so they can figure out which antibiotic to use to cure this infection. After reading these posts on here it looks like this might be chronic and maybe i shouldn't bother with the wash? Also it looks like i need to find a vet that specializes in bulldogs because maybe the ones i have gone to don't really know what to do with this problem. I'm in the Boston area so if someone knows a good bulldog specialist vet that would be great. I've heard lemon juice is supposed to help with the phlegm but haven't tried it yet. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it as i feel so bad for him! Thanks.
