There are many ads out there claiming to have "Teacup" Pomeranians. There is no such things as a "Teacup" only malnourished and under developed dogs. If you find a breeder claiming to have "Teacup" Pomeranians, stay away. The puppies are stunted and will have a host of health problems. My male was the runt of the litter and he is 4 pounds, well within the healthy size of a Pomeranian. My female is 6 pounds and also well within the healthy weight limits of a Pomeranian, and the tiniest Pomeranian I or anyone I know has ever come across. Do your research before buying a dog. Breeders claiming to have "Teacups" are only doing so to over charge you and you will pay dearly for it. Not only will you overpay for a dog that has health problems but you will pay with your heart because your companion will have a host of health problems and the vet bills will pile up.
It hurts my heart to see these tiny tiny dogs because I know they must be hungry and in pain.
Amen to that! There is no such thing as teacup Pomeranian! They are runts of the litter with a silly price tag because someone wants a tiny dog. Pure bred Poms are small anyway, how small do people actually want if a real Pom isn't small enough? Maybe a hamster?
My girlfriend told me she wants a teacup pomeranian. So, I whenever I do not know much about something, I do research. I am a research addict.
I came across the following website ( http://teacuppomeranians.net ) and I have read it a couple of times and am conflicted a bit about what they are saying.
On one hand, they say teacup pomeranians are a myth of sorts. That they don't really exist. But, then they say that you can find them (but most of the time just from unethical breeders). And they urge readers to consider adoption/rescuing a pom.
I know that teacup poms exist as I have seen several celebrities mentioned as to owning one. Sharon Osbourne is an example. I am perplexed.
