We got her when she was 3 months old and have been working hard with her ever since. She is in a kennel when we are not home and when we are home she only has access to whatever floor we are on. 75% of the time she will let us know when she has to go. The other 25% she sneaks by when we move the gate for a minute and goes somewhere. She knows better and I spend all day taking her out, praising her for going. She also eats my shoes, clothes, has destroyed our rugs among other things. I am fed up and ready to give up. What can I do besides spend $1000 to give her proper training????
What I always have done for potty training is when you are home keep her onleash and tied to you, then she can't sneak off. you must be vigilant, no watching tvand forgetting she is tied to you. always be aware and as soon as she shows signs of needing to go out go out with her. don't just push her out the door. A dog sees that as being punished "banished" from the pack. You can also use a kennel with and ex pen attached. Kennels are frequently misused. Attaching an ex pen to a kennel gives a dog a place it can escape from it's sleeping spot to, if you are not there to let it out so it can potty. cover the expen floor in puppy pads or newspaper. It might take a while this way, but the dog won't damage it's clean den instinct, which is what happens a little more any time a dog potties in it's kennel.
And for the chewing innappropriate things, keep shoes and other items up where it can't get access to them. Never hit the dog if it does get something it's not supposed to have grab a dog toy or something that it really likes and exchange it for what the dog has. You can teach the dog "drop it" or "give it" too
