Researched and looked into adopting a rescue dog (no particular breed or mix), and visited because I saw and read about a dog on their site that seemed like a good fit for our family. When I arrived I was very surprised at what I saw. There were many dogs there, it seemed crowded and not the cleanest enviroment. The adoption fees were $250+ depending on the dog (but I already knew this having done my research). However, I was taken aback by the condition of the place and it was a little unsettling to me. I didn't end up adopting a dog from them because not long after my initial visit I took in a very sweet little dog (owned by a family member that had passed) that needed a good home. I am a strong supporter of rescue groups and no-kill shelters and most all are very well run and provide excellent records and backrounds on the animals they rescue, but after watching a recent 'Hoarders' episode on animal collectors it just made me wonder.
