Hi. My lab has cut his tail several times as he has a very powerful "wag" . Once it is cut every time he gets excited, which is often, he wags it like crazy and he leaves blood all over walls and drips on floors and clothes and such.
I just returned from a couple days of not seeing him and of course he went crazy and his tail was dripping from hitting everything in sight. I want to treat him properly so I am asking what any recommendations would be as I know that tail will be wagging away for years to come.
I put a bag on it and taped it for now but even that can't withstand the force he hits his tail against objects.
There just isn't much you can do. keep the wounds clean, and hope he doesn't do it often. We have that problem at a boarding kennel I work for. Dog are always busting there wagging tails open. Makes me glad to have a breed with no tail lol
