i stopped by a friends barn today and saw they had this kitten that looked really rough. they told me i could take it home if i wanted to so home we came with this sickly looking poor little thing. well upon checking it over im pretty sure it has an uri. its eyes have a little bit of discharge, it has small bumps beside its eyes and a tiny bit of discharge from nose. it seems like it wants to hack out a hairball but nothing comes up but thats what it looks like its trying to do (no noise along with it though) vet appointment will def be made for tomorrow but hoping someone could give me advise for tonite. it wont eat and all it wants to do is lay down and sleep (although it will crawl on your lap if you sit on floor beside it to be petted but lays down once its there) i want it to be as comfortable as possible until we can get it to vet bright and early tomorrow so any suggestions please.
My family rescued two kittens last year. They didn't have the fleas but they did have the digestive issues. We switched their food to a better brand cat food (Purina Kitten Chow), and a special kitten formula and their vomiting and diarrhea cleared up within two days. Its important not to feed them regular (cows) milk because its hard on their stomachs and can increase diarrhea. Kitten formula or even goats milk would be better. We learned this from saving thirteen puppies after their mother was put down.
