Our American Bulldog has recently started growling at us. He has always been a loving and extremely affectionate dog. 99% of the time he's walking around with a huge smile on his face. Over the past 2 weeks or so he has gotten aggressive (growling) to the point that I am sometimes scared to go near him. He has also been a bit mopey lately. Nothing has changed, he still goes for lots of walks and rides in the car and gets soooooo much attention. He snapped at my husband last night while they were playing and now my husband is contemplating getting rid of him. He is almost 3 years old. Anybody have any suggestions?
Have you had him checked by a vet? There may be a medical reason why all of a sudden he is Miley and snappy. The only way they can let us know they are sick or in pain is by behavioral changes. Don't you want to know before you just write him off and dump him?
