About 4 days ago, we noticed that one of our pug puppies had about 4 small bumps on the top of her head. They were quite hard and pink looking. Today, (Saturday) we noticed there were now 7 bumps and they were quite large - about 1/4" in diameter. Called the vet and took her in this afternoon. After a thorough going over, the vet said that it "might" be puppy strangles, but she couldn't be sure. It would cost almost $200 to take an aspirate or a small biopsy, or we could try some antibiotics. We chose the antibiotics. From everything I have read online about puppy strangles, it affects the lymph glands and muzzles and eyes. She doesn't have any bumps anywhere else on her body. Does anybody have an idea?
