My husband and I are going thru a tough time. Maxfield, our 11 year old purebred Doberman is going down hill. He is the love of our life. We know his end of life is near. It's very sad watching him go down hill. He can no longer climb stairs so he sleeps alone downstairs. He has adjusted to it. Lately, he poops during the night. We don't mind cleaning it up. During the day we take him out several times. He has a good appetite and drinks alot of water. Maxfield is our second Dobie. Cody didn't live this long and it was cancer that killed him. My husband and I are in our sixties and we know this will be our last dog. I really don't have any questions, but would like to hear from other people that have gone thru saying goodbye to a loving pet.
