I rescued Mack about 5 months ago and he’s approximately a year old now. The first few weeks and even months that I had him he was relatively timid. Then he progressively became more active and the puppy behavior started. I invested in an easy walker harness so that walks were more enjoyable and we seem to be mastering the pulling on the leash issue. However, about halfway through our hour walks in the evening he wants to "play" with me. He jumps on me, bites my hands, arms and legs and it sometimes takes me 20 minutes to get him to calmly walk with me again. I’ve tried making him sit, firmly grabbing the back of his neck, saying “no”, and ignoring him. If I ignore him he jumps on my back and barks at me. He weighs more than me right now at 145 and I imagine he will be getting bigger and stronger. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to gain control of these situations so we can get back to our peaceful evening walks? Thanks!
