My 7 year old golden retriever was just detected with cancer as I'm laying here next to her and just holding her I cannot understand why so soon and I must make the hardest decision ever. I keep thinking perhaps is not true perhaps she will get better what if I put her to sleep and she still has time left I ask myself do we put humans to sleep when they are detected with cancer? I love this girl so much she is the best ever she is loving she is a ray of sunshine in our house she is my confidant we talk and she is there for me when I am sad we were getting old together we celebrated our first grey hairs we chatted and now she is leaving?
I am so sorry for what your going through :( I have had only one experience with a dog having cancer and it was a very sudden illness, then she was gone that night. I am not sure if I would rather have had it be so sudden, or been given time to say goodbye. I think fast was best for her though. Its been nearly 2 years and our hearts still ache for her.
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It is about learning to dance in the rain.
