My dog, Dixie has had back problems for a few weeks and yesterday when I got home a nephew opened her cage and she came running out and down the steps it was then that I saw her having serious problems with her back legs, losing motion with them. I felt her back and it seems she has extreme muscle spasms near her back legs. She has not lost her bodily functions but she drags her back legs so sh can pee. I am making a set of wheels and a device to use so she can get around without using her back legs. It will support her lower back and I will only use this until she gets better. She had done well until yesterday when she came down the steps and seemed to lose her ability to move her back legs. At night she sleeps with us and I felt her kick her back legs so I know she has not lost total use, just that it hurts her so bad she does not even try to stand on them. We have some medications from the vet and are giving them to her and keep her in her cage. Is there any more we can do to make her comfortable until her back gets better? We cannot afford the 3500 dollars for an operation. I am a Disabled Vietnam Veteran and just don't have that sort of money. Will my apparatus be good enough to help her for a while?
