I have a 2-year-old German shepherd mix. I have had him since he was 8 weeks old. He is generally well mannered but he is not properly trained in basic obedience. He has bitten me twice this week when I answer a knock at the front door. He isnít biting me accidently. The two bites have been intentional. He doesnít growl at me or show any time of aggression other than the door incident. I am worried because he is a 60lb dog and can do me harm. My hand is bruised from him bites. What should I do to train him not to bite me ever.
Side notes: I donít walk dog. He normally plays in the yard. I take him to the dog park but not regularly. When we are home, we just lounge on the couch. I know he should get more exercise but he hasnít shown any signs (before the bites) so I thought it was alright.
Well, when playing pups often bite owners' hands. But I'd recommend you finding a reliable trainer. Before you make a choice, read some reviews (www. pissedconsumer.com/consumer-reviews/veterinary.html) to make sure you are choosing a worthy specialist who will train your pet properly.
