I have a 1-1/2 year old male Bichon who will not sleep past 3:30 a.m. Every morning he will wake up at the same time, bark, and need to go outside to go potty, which he does. I also have a 10 year old female cockapoo and a 15 year old female Pomeranian. They will go outside at the same time as well but will not bark if they have to go potty unless it is an "emergency" as they will not go in their pens. I put them to bed at around 9:00 p.m. each night. What can I do to have him sleep longer in the morning as I am about to go on vacation and do not need to get up that early?
Also, he is not neutered and will mark in the house even when I do have him on his leash and have my eyes on him. I see that if I get him neutered that habit will stop but my wife would like to have puppies with him so we are holding off right now.
My last question is that I have never really seriously taken or had the time to sit down and train him until now. Is there a good book I can get which will teach me so I can teach him to listen to me as right now he basically runs the house and does what he wants and if he does not get his way he will bark until he gets sick.
