We have a 8 year old male papillon and he is urinating in the house on the furniture and carpet. He drinks a lot of water. We love him, but are at our wits end. We contacted a vet and they said they could run a series of tests for around $400. Thats a lot of money for no guarantees. Any suggestions?
I will tell you that I had a 8 year old boxer female and she began to urinate on stuff especially when she was sleeping. I had her to the vet several times and he finally found that her liver had began to shut down and therefore her other organs were suffering...I.e. her bladder. After several treatments to try to "restart" her liver and during this time she would drink every drop she could find because she was sooooooo thirsty, she would even break into the toilet, ( I always close the lid because my dogs drink fresh well or bottled, I think the toilet thing is nasty). I didn't think it was so severe because she was so happy and waging her tail all the time as usual. But after a struggle and a bit she quit eating and after trying to spoon feed her baby food and what ever else I could do...I had to make the absolute hardest decision I could ever make and had to put her down. I held her until she went to sleep and cried for 8 days and didn't eat anything for 3 myself, I lost 7lbs and my Very best friend I had ever had at that time......PLEASE find a way to get your baby in because if I could have saved her for400$ I would pay it 100 times over......good love prayers out to your baby.
We took in a Papillon that was a left over pup from a litter. Born May and now March. He is a good dog but barks at everything and seems to have a very short term memory. I don't understand why he continues to pee in the house as well as poop. It seems if he has been resting and gets up he will start sniffing immediately. Im at a loss on how to get him to go to the door. Not only does he do that but crate training him is a night mare. He is quite vocal and digs and gnaws at the door. Im exhausted with this and to the point of finding a rescue area. I don't want to give up on him. He does like our Corgy and is ok with one of our cats but torments our other cat. Please any help.
