Hi there. Recently I adoped an Australian Shepherd puppy. She is about 16-18 weeks old. She's a beautiful blue merle and we just love her. However....she is aggressive.
We adopted her the sunday after christmas of 2012. She seemed a little small to be 8 weeks old. Took her to the vet and realized that she was only about 6 weeks old. The first 2 weeks were great with her. But as she became comfortable in our house we have had issues with aggression.
She becomes very aggressive if she is handled from behind. For instance, if we are to get her from under the couch, she starts growling and snapping aggressively. We've had to correcther to stay in our yard, sometimes by grabbing her and directing her back to where her designated are is and she growls and starts snapping. Just tonight my husband had to correct her and she did puncture his wrist.
I don't know what her background is, like i said we adopted.
How can i correct her? I had an aussie about 2 years ago and she was THE PERFECT DOG. I realize that some of my puppies actions are from her maybe being taken away from her mother too soon. So what can i do? Currently i have 2 other dogs in the house and she doesn't show any aggression towards them. Just to my husband and I.
