So, I have a 4 year old Pom and I had a general question about chewing and his teeth.
We have been to the vet recently and there are no issues with his teeth, we also brush his teeth every night and he has a Greenie treat once a day.
But he is not a chewer. I know that chewing can be a healthy way for a dog to strenthen his teeth and jaws, but he just isn't into it...except when he REALLY is.
Rawhide generally doesn't sit right with his tummy, and the only chewing item he likes is the Nylabone "clear" one (no other way to describe it, not the really soft one, or the really hard.) But the problem with that is that he will start and not let up on it, we have actually noticed tiny flecks of blood on it when we finally take it away from him, plus he is probably ingesting a good amount of the plastic.
Thoughts on whether we should do a harder search for something that he can work his jaws on? Or if it ain't broke, don't fix it?
