Fritz is 6 years old. He had back surgery 2 months ago. He was doing fine until about 2 weeks ago. Now he is extremely sick He has been taken to the vet numerous times and they at one time suggested "exploratory surgery." He has been running a fever and hasn't eaten dog food in 2 weeks. He will eat little bites of chicken/peanut butter etc. His blood counts are all up indicating infection. We took him to the vet Friday and he was put on 7 different medicines. They don't know what type of infection he has. After testing; cancer has been ruled out. He was acting himself Sunday but then Sunday night became extremely ill throwing up and now will not even drink water. He is to go back to the vet tomorrow (Tues). His back is very humpy and rugged since the surgery. The hump is very noticeable even from a distance. Does anyone know what could have happened during surgery to 1) cause this rugged/hump? 2) what possibly could be wrong that treatment w/medicine is not seeming to help. We don't think he is going to make it. We believe this all was a result of surgery. Thank you.
