Hi, we have an 10 year old shih tzu, that we've had for the last 4 years.
In the last 7 days he has escaped our yard 4 times. Our dogs have access to one room with a doggie door to a large fenced yard. We keep blocking every hole we can find but he keeps finding others - yesterday he even went pass the electric fence.
I'm just wondering can this be some type of separation anxiety because in 4 years he has never escaped. Why NOW????
On Monday the person that picked him up said he was on the side of the road at 8:15am we left home at 6:40am, yesterday he wondered into someones yard, she said it was around 8:30am so he's escaping shortly after we leave to go to work.
Today he's spending the day in one of the bedrooms alone with no access to the back yard.
If this is separation anxiety, that means he will no longer every be allowed to have access to the exterior when we are not there.
