I noticed our Shih Tzu with less energy and felt something was wrong. I comb her daily and one day found a small knot growing under her skin. She moved around when I felt it and put pressure on it. It felt size of an acorn under the skin. So my husband and I decided to lance it. He sterilized a razor blade with alcohol and we used sterile pads. Thought it might hurt her but the skin covering the knot seemed hard. Tom gently touched it enough to open it and first dark blood came out then a half inch of yellow mass came out when we gently squeezed. Then more blood until we felt all the lump was gone. We put some liquid brown med on her, did not seem to bother her. We watched it daily and healed very nicely. We have a great vet and have learned so much from him. Since we have a Lab-outside-4 dachshunds and one Shih Tzu inside. All are wonderful with their own personalities. The next day after Yaz surgery we did she was her old self and this was few wks ago and she is doing great. Thru the yrs we have and still do at times have so many vet bills that we have learned to do a few things our selves. Do our own ear treatment vet meds of course. If you have any problems with your pets, I would like to help if can. I live in North Ms. AND have the best vet in the world.
