I recently moved in with people that have two dogs, a yorkie and a chocolate lab. They all get fed in the kitchen against the back wall. I keep the food dish for my kitten filled all day because of her age. The dogs, thankfully, have no interest in her food but my kitten won't leave the yorkie's dish alone. The yorkie is 7 right now and doesn't eat her food immediately and is willing to share. Problem is one of the dogs can't have wheat so their food doesn't contain the nutrients I'm sure my kitten needs. How can I make her stop eating their food without crating her when they have food out?
try feeding her in your room so she understands that this food is her food. It might also not be a bad idea to try to discourage her from even going near there and find a new place for her to eat. Try a squirt bottle or a loud noise when you see her go near the yorkie's dishes and hopefully that will deter her from venturing over there to eat that food.
