We had our male neutered right around 6 months and never had any issues. He went in on a friday, had the surgery friday, was kept overnight, and we picked him up Saturday morning. We approved for him to have the best pain injection and the best anesthesia (sp?) and the surgery was done with a laser so there were no sutures on the outside. The only thing we had to watch for was him licking his incision so he wouldn't open it again. He did not seem mad at us in the slightest, was happy when we got to the vet to pick him up, and the vet didn't want to let him leave because he was so good! He was a little tired the day we picked him up but by the next day he was pretty much back to normal. His attitude and personality hasn't been affected at all and he still humps. :P Even if it had been worse, however, I would have still done it just for his health and safety.
Everyone wish Rocky the best!! Tomorrow is his big day!! Tried to get him in sooner to be fixed but the vet wasn't available. I just hope he doesn't get any lazier!! Currently he is referred to as the "area rug" and the rug moves from spot to spot...I am afraid after tomorrow he may never move again!! (jk)
