I finally got a new kitten on Friday. He is about 10 weeks old. He is a very playful and social, but he hasn't been wanting to eat. He hasn't ate anything since I got him on Friday. Is this really Bad for him not eating he is only a kitten, so I am concerned. Should I be concerned about a health problem, or is this normal for a kitten that is in a new home. He only had a few bites of canned food, but then he threw up right after. He doesn't seem interested in the dry food even if it is moistened with water. He did drink a very small amount of milk though, but that is all he had all weekend.
Try going to the store and buying some goats milk add water, warm It up and It should help :o) Or he just may miss his family and Is lonely?? Also try playing with him alot so that It makes him hungry he can't go on forever without food!! Tell us If he eats!! Thanks!
i have 2 kittens its normal most of the time! if he try s to eat and he drops it out of his mouth that means he has a disease if he doesnt eat period then its normal it could be that hes kinda off cuz he lives in a new plzce talkto ur vet aboout it! or maybe he hates his food lol!
Also lots of cats can be very picky about what they eat and what kind of cat food they have.I have a cat like that she Is very picky and she will olny eat the expensive kind lol.Try some differnt kinds of food and see what she likes best and I would call the vet If I were you If this continues to go on. Hope everything will be ok :o)
I definitely think you should take the cat to the vet. A cat that young really shouldn't be so picky it hasn't eaten in 2 days, and with her vomiting instead of nibbling.. That sounds like a more serious problem.
Cats are VERY picky. They do not always eat if they are hungry. I had a cat one time that would not eat the food I bought. My husband ket telling me he would eat if he was hungry. Well, he didn't eat until I went to the store and bought what he wanted to eat.
Well, he finally started to eat on Sunday night. I went out to buy a new cat food. I was feeding him natural balance becasue that is what my dogs get, but I guess he didn't like it. I went to petsmart to pick up some kitty milk and some cans of purina proplan kitten food and he seemed to like that better. He didn't throw up and he is eating normally now. I am still taking him to the vet this afternoon for his shots and an exam, so I will let the vet know about his bout with not eating for 2 days. Maybe he was so nervous the first few days that he threw up. Lucy hasn't been so accepting of him, so maybe that is why.
