Jessie has started to bite, not nip but actully draw blood and i was wondering is there anything i can do to stop her from doing this!! Also she is weeing and poohing everywhere bu outside, i put her out after a nap and after she eats but nothing seems to be working!! And one more thing, she is really bad with her food, she snatched and growls and you when you go near her, can i do anything to stop this??
I HAVE THREE BLUE HEELERS, WHEN THEY WERE BABIES THEY WOULD BITE REAL HARD TOO. WHAT I WOULD DO IS WHEN THEY BITE SAY NOT LOUDLY LOOKING AT THEM IN THE EYE AND TAKING THEIR GUMD AND PLACING THEM OVER THEIR TEETH SO THEY THIN THEY ARE BITING THEMSELVES, THEY EVENTUALLY STOPPED. IT IS HARD TO GET THEM TO STOP BITING ESPECIALLY WHILE THEY ARE TEETHING, BUT IF YOU WORK WITH THEM THEY WILL STOP. I ALSO CRATE TRAINED MY DOGS, THIS GOT THEM TO STOP GOING TO THE BATHROOM IN THE HOUSE. THEY LEARNED NOT TO GO TO THE BATHROOM IN THEIR CRATE BECAUSE IT WAS THEIR HOME AND THEY LEARNED TO GO OUTSIDE. I GUESS IT HELPS ALSO WHEN YOU HAVE ANOTHER OLDER DOG TO HELP TEACH THE YOUNGER ONE. ABOUT THE FOOD, I DON'T THINK YOU CAN EVER GET RID OF THAT TWO OF MY BLUE HEELERS ARE FIVE YEARS OLD AND WON'T LET ANY OTHER DOG NEAR THEM WHILE THEY ARE EATING. THEY USED TO GET MAD WHEN WE GOT NEAR THEM BUT IF YOU SMACK THEM LIGHTLY ON THE BUTT AND SAY NO THEY SHOULD BE BROKEN OF IT, ESPECIALLY IF IT IS STILL YOUNG. IF YOU DO DISCIPLINE THE PUPPY BY SMACKING IT LIGHTLY ON THE BEHIND, DO NOT LET THEM PUPPY SEE YOUR HAND, IT WILL THEN ASSOCIATE YOUR HAND TO PAIN AND IT WILL NOT HELP AT ALL
Hello, I have a blue/red/border collie cross. She loved to bite when she was a puppy and nothing would break her. The best thing I found out was to get her started on a shock collar. I know it sounds cruel, but it was the only thing that would work to break her of her bad habits, such as chewing on my furnature, taking her bathroom breaks in the house and biting. I got mine through a sporting goods company. It has four different level of shocks. It seemed to be the most effective way to train. You have to make sure that you use it and give commands right away. The other solution for potty training is to try crate training. Between the shock collar and crate i have complete broke my dog and she is a great companion who listens and obeys commands. I
