I got a kitten about two weeks ago and I bought him a little bed to sleep on, but he hasn't even slept in it once. He wants to sleep with us, but he wants to sleep on my pillow close to my face. I push him off several times during the night, but he still hasn't learned. He even likes to sleep on top of my chest as well. I don't mind him sleeping on the foot of the bed, but not on top of my head or chest heh. So, my question is Can cats get crated at night, or will he eventually learn were he is supposed to sleep?
how old is this kitten? Kittens like to feel body warmth. That is why they pile on top of each other when they sleep. I have never crated a cat before and have never had a reason to. All of my cats sleep with someone in the house. My cat Abby sleep right above my head and Gizmo curls up beside my bf. Is the kitten bothering you when it sleep above you head? I understand it may wake you up when he lays on your face but just keep pushing him away when he does that and he will learn not to get on your face but I see nothing wrong with him sleeping above you head or curled up beside you. Usually if you have more than one cat they may sleep together and leave you alone but not always. None of my cats sleep together.
i have two 4 month old kittens and i have to close my bedroom door at night because they just bug me too much. they want to play with my hair and attack my feet. i wouldn't mind if they slept on my pillow, but all the playing right now is too much. you could just close your door to keep them out.
The kitten is about 9 weeks old. I have another six year old cat that sleeps with my daughter or sometimes my bed, but hasn't recently becasue of the new kitten. I don't mind the cat on the bed my six year old cat always slept on my bed, but not on my face or on top of me. It can get really annoying! He gets really playful at night, so who knows he may scratch my face while I am sleeping and he loves to claw my legs and feet when they are moving under the blankets. heh. I think I will go buy a sheepskin mat to keep him warm. You are right he probably is just cold :)
when fox was a baby the first few days i brought him home i kept him locked in the bathroom at night so he couldn't get into any trouble. then i let him out and he constantly played with my legs and would attack me under the covers or on top of the covers if he saw a body part move under them. it was highly annoying and those little claws hurt !! so he was locked out of the bedroom for awhile til he got the message. now he sleeps with us but he is calm and just cuddles right up to us or on us.
We got our cat Smokee during a cold month. (November). He was a bit sickly, and cried when I shut him in the pantry. I brought him into my bed, and he immediately crawled under the covers, and laid right up against my stomach. (He was cold). We slept together that way for a couple months, until he got older, and healthier. He's three years old now....no longer sleeps against my tummy, but still gets under the covers.
