Related to my pee post earlier, I was wondering if any of you had any experience of incontinence in dogs. My almost 3 year old cocker spaniel has recently (since 2 weeks) shown signs of incontinence, or at least that is what the vet thinks but it's inconclusive. She has peed in her sleep several times and has not always been able to hold her wee (and she goes on the kitchen floor where she is kept) when I'm out at work even though the helper comes in at lunch time. A couple of times, she even peed in front of me after her morning feed right before I was about to take her out. The symptoms actually started a couple of days after we had out first overnight guests so I am not sure if it's behavioural or biological. But peeing in sleep can't be behavioural so let's see what the vet says when I bring in her second urine sample later on this week. Her first sample showed up free from UTI. Does this sound familiar to anyone out there? To be honest, it really depresses me because I just want my puppy to be well and since I got her 3 months ago, she's had nothing but infections and physical ailments. Oh, and she has been spayed (a year ago).
My mothers dog started doing that. Look up signs of cushings, does she ever seem disoriented, aggresive, or is her behavior different at all. My mom had taken Louis to the vet and he just said it was something with his kidneys and I started looking at this pamplet in the lounge and I determined he had cushings, sure nuff they took lots of tests and thats what it was!
