i think my 14 week old netherland dwarf rabbit could be pregnent, it said in a rabbit book that they can have babies when they r 3 + months old, i think this because she has gotten fatter than she was. she is my mums rabbit and she was been buissy, so she hasn't been out much, i donno how, but when jake my other rabbit who is double the size of cassie was out running about the room, he got cassie the netherland dwarf out of her cage, i donno if the did anything, i wasn't in the room at the time. anyway we quickly put her in. about a week or so later, she came into heat, that was about a week ago. couls he have cought her, he weren't planing on breading her, espesualy with my other rabbits. her tummy is solid, she is only a baby, what should i do? could she be pregnent????
My mom used to have rabbits that she bred and we could never tell that they were pregnant because they were so fluffy. But when they are, they are pregnant for 28 to 34 days. Typically the average is 31 days. You can usually tell if she starts making a nest. In her cage, make sure she has a box she can go into that is dark and only has one opening for privacy. Then put hay in the cage and see if she carries it into the box. She will also start pulling out her hair. Every once in awhile, check inside the box to see if there is a pile of hay and hair in there and then you will know. Also, be careful after awhile, because when she has the babies, she will bury them in the hay so you can't see them, so you might not notice they are there. One thing to remember is that if she is, after she has the babies, she will hardly ever be around them. So many people confuse this for her abandoning them, but really, it's an instinct thing. In the wild, if the female rabbit goes to her den to feed the babies, predators will know it and find them. So they only feed their babies at night and only once. So if she does have babies, and it seems like she is ignoring them, she isn't.
Wow!! 14 weeks. Ummmm im not sure about this one but usually when they are pregnant their stomach isnt hard it almost feels like they got little BB's in theor stomach and they eat more and start getting a dewlap. Personally though I dont know!! This is weird but if she came into heat a week AFTER they were together than i dont think they bred because being around a buck will bring her INTO heat so i dont beleive she got pregnant. They also could have a false pregnancy where they think their preganat and act like it but when it comes time to have the babies there is none. But yea like one girl said take her to a vet and see what he has to say!
