Everytime I walk Skittles, she tries to pull me somewhere. I walk her with a harness since I have to restrict her from pulling, and collars look like they hurt more. But I tried walking her with a collar the other day, and she didn't pull as much, so now i'm wondering if collars do any harm to the dog's neck if they continually pull on it?
well the frist thing you have to do is stop uesing a harness it dosen't do anything. I makes them pull because it dosen't hurt. i would use any of them if my dog pulled. i would ues on of these http://premier.com/pages.cfm?id=17
If he pulls you don't want a collar on him. There have been dogs who got collapsed airways becuse they pulled to hard on the leash. But a halter could make him pull more because it doesn't hurt. I suggest a gental leader. It puts pressure on their nose so they stop pulling. It is not a muzzle they can open their mouth. I think they are wonderful!
I use a halter cuz my dog is little and she coughs when she pulls on a collar even just a little. I can control her better and not worry about her trachea. Cant use the gentle leader type as she has a very short muzzle.
