Since I live in a city I would never consider it to be mean to care for my little girls and keep them inside. Theres a lot of traffic and I don't want them getting hit by a car or getting lost or stolen by someone. But once in a while I will put them on leashes and take them outside during the summer. One enjoys the other would rather stay in side and sit by an open window.

I know this is old but i have to add mine.

My cat is inside out side. He does what he wants when he wants. He kills mice and lines them up next to the walk way witch I find odd and kinda funny, He kills birds and will hid them under bushes witch I find quite strange I mean why not line birds up with the mice. We only have one cat but with the bodys you will find laying around you would think we had at least 3.

Over all hes in good health, he loves to play with dogs, the bigger the better (i think one got the best of him because he lost part of his tail it healed nicly though and you wouldnt know by looking at him). He had a few cat friends befor we moved One was a black cat that went missing, poor sagwa he sat on the nabors window crying for weeks, Now he has a little white cat buddy and a big orange cat buddy. They all lay around the yard and some times chase eachother back and fourth.

he loves to hunt, he loves other cats and dogs. I cant take that away from him, Plus I tryed after the tail thing and he started to use everyones cloths, the girls toys, and anything he could get ahold of as a litter box. It as not like a litter box was new to him he had been useing one for a few years befor that.

He never goes far from the house, Anytime i want him in all I have to do is yell and he comes running.

The only animal i felt bad for was one mouse, he was just tourting the poor guy and I ended up telling him to stop playing with it and took it away, and a hampster. The people who lived close to us would live a window open for all the cats around, they had food out for them and you would see cats going in and out, One day my cat went in and came out with a happster. they closed there window after that.

For inside cat owners,
do they use a litter box their whole life? Yes
Do they EVER go outside in fresh air and play on nice grass? they sometimes come out on a leash.

Anyone got a cat and also own a tame bird that is not always in a cage ie on the couch, on your shoulder? Yes i do..They sit and look at eachother and they talk
How do you keep the cat from eating the bird? I fed my cat treats while i was holding the bird and now they are good friends...I use to have 3 hamsters that had a big clear plastic container that they lived in (no lid) and my cat would go in there and sleep with them and the hamsters would lie beside her.((it was so cute))
