Rusty, my golden is about 6 1/2 years old. He is the sweetest dog you could ever meet. A little while ago he ran to the back door and scared the squirrels off. He kept going back to the door and I told him to go lay down because I thought he just wanted to go pester the squirrels. He kept running back to the door. Next thing I know he is peeing in my entry way. A LOT!!!! He has never, ever, ever gone in the house before. He's already been outside earlier and is usually very content to lay under the ceiling fan or a/c vent until it cools off outside, then he wants to go out about 5pm. Now, I know this is my fault and I should have let him out, but I really thought he was just wanting to go after the squirrels. I have now finished mopping and mopping and mopping and I am wondering if something might be wrong with him. Not just because he had an accident, but because it is soooo unlike him. I am just stunned. I can't believe he did that, but now I'm scared something might be wrong. I know I'm a big worry wart, but OMG I didn't realize how much an 80 lb dog could pee. You would think he'd been holding it all week! Have a good day! i would say if he does this repeatedly , peeing more frequently or starts having accidents in the house more regularly, you may want to check him out. but once i wouldn't worry about. you didn't know he had to go.
