Does anyone know anything about border collies. I am thinking about getting one and I live in a townhome so am unsure as to how they would be in a smaller setting. I hear they are very active and high maintenance.

Hi!I have owned two Border Collie mixs, and have know several full stock Border Collies. And they are for sure the smartest dogs I've ever met! And I have owned a lot of different breeds of dogs. Because they are so smart, the always need something to keep their mind occupied and a lot of excerise. If they get bored they often become destructive or obsessive. If you are concerned about a Border Collie fitting into your lifestyle, you could try doing what I did and adopt a Border collie mix from an animal shelter. The one I have now is extremely intelligent and looks a lot like a BC, but because she is a mix she is a little smaller than a purebred ( which I think is better if you are keeping a dog in the house.), and she is not hardly as hyper as a BC. Of course this would depend on what type of cross they were, but there are a lot of Border Collie mixes that need homes.
