If someone could give me a website or info on crate training again I would really appreciate it. Like how to get started and how to make them comfortable. I am buying two crates tonight and starting Molly and Pugs with them. Mainly for days I am not here. Poppy (the grnadpa) doesn't seem to be letting them out enough while I am gone and they tend to get into things. Pugs will be sleeping in hers though. Thanks guys...hate to be redundent but I didn't print anything on this before and I should have.
Unless they spaz out, I don't see what you need to worry about. Just tell grandpa not to let them out when they bark, or it will be useless. You have to put up with the whining for a few days, before they give up. They have nice crate bowls that fix to the side of the crate, so they don't spill their water. Give them a nice pad and a blankie or article of clothing with your scent on it. Put on a radio if they are in a quiet room. I know they say the crate should only be big enough for the dog to turn around, but if messing in the crate isn't a problem, I like a little bigger one so their not so confined and can spread out or have toys in there without having to lay on them. Good luck! Let us know how it goes. (lol, my 10 lb shih tzu has a crate big enough for a lab. It's like a condo!)
pearl, I love DDFL! :) They have the best info. They have a hotline you can call to with any questions you have. You don't even have to have adopted a dog from them. They're great. Did you see that blessings of the dogs yesterday at DDFL?
Thanks Lalayla. I am sure it will be fine with Pugs Lee but I know Molly is going to go crazy!! lol Pearl...I will check out that website. I have been on the phone nonstop and can't seem to get any time to myself this morning. The one morning I don't have to work at my parents and the phone won't stop!! :-)
Hey...just remembered Ltlgto did something on this. And I could have sworn I printed it?!!? Will look and see if I stuck it somewhere weird. If anyone has a clue what page Ltlgto's TFTD is on crating let me know, meanwhile I will look for it myself.
